The design principle is based upon traditional oak buildings and refers back to the quirkiness of the ‘crooked house’ of nursery rhyme fame. Creating a delightful and enchanting look that opens into an unexpected cosy and romantic space when your guests enter inside.
In order to create this cosy yet open interior the design makes use of modern constructional techniques and materials that allow the interior dimensions to be unexpectedly spacious.
The lodge includes vaulted ceilings contrasted with slim ‘vista’ windows and a welcoming and sturdy porch. Inside the structure is revealed echoing the crooked elements of the frame work.
The materials used are considered for their natural quality and to blend into the environment. The main structural timbers, window frames, detail boarding, solid arched door are made from Oak. Chosen for its straightness and length of grain it contrasts with the warmth of the green oak weather used to the exterior.

The roof is covered with naturally water repellent cedar shingles which, in time, will patternate with the weather and blend into its surroundings.
